Account deletion
Deleting your Campus Scenes account.
Campus Scenes is developed by Next Tech Lab. You can delete your account
from inside the app at any time - you do not need to email us or wait for
anyone to action it.
Delete it from the app
- Open Campus Scenes and sign in.
- Tap the You tab (bottom right).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm by tapping Delete.
Deletion happens straight away. There is no waiting period and no
confirmation email to wait for.
If you cannot open the app
Email support@campusscenes.com
from the address on the account, with the subject "Delete my account". We
verify the request comes from that address and complete it within 30
days.
What is deleted
- Your account and login credentials.
- Your email address.
- Your profile, including your gender answer and roommate card.
- Your handle - it is released and returns to the pool for others.
- Your block list, your poll votes and your saved preferences.
What is kept, and for how long
- Posts, listings and messages you already sent remain
visible under the handle they were posted with. They never carried your
name or email, so they do not identify you after deletion. Delete them
individually before deleting your account if you want them gone -
pulling a thread out from under a conversation other students are still
having would otherwise happen without their knowledge.
- Moderation records - if content of yours was
reported and removed, we keep a record of that decision for up to 12
months so repeated abuse can be recognised. These records reference the
handle, not you.
- Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis and are
fully cycled within 30 days.
- We keep nothing else. There is no shadow copy, and none of it is used
for advertising or sold to anyone.
Deleting some data without deleting your account
You can remove individual things at any time without closing your
account: delete a post from its menu, delete or mark a housing listing
filled from the listing itself, and end a chat from the conversation. You
can also change your handle from You → Change handle.
